Urg. I have a speech to write for English, which I’m completely avoiding btw.
Why on earth did I pick
Nihilism
oh well, I’ll figure something out I’m sure.
It’s just that I’m reading about the author and he doesn’t like Nihilism and his book is NOT supporting it. (at least that’s what I’ve read, I’m still lacking a little research) It seems like the author is more of an absurdism than anything, even though he doesn’t like to be ‘labeled’.
fun quote things about Nilisium
- Nihilism is the belief that all values are baseless and that nothing can be known or communicated.
- A true nihilist would believe in nothing, have no loyalties, and no purpose other than, perhaps, an impulse to destroy.
- Everything is the same, nothing is worthwhile, the world is senseless, knowledge strangles.
- Never to have lived is best, ancient writers say;
Never to have drawn the breath of life, never to have looked into the eye of day;
The second best’s a gay goodnight and quickly turn away. - Nihilism: any aim is lacking, any answer to the question “why” is lacking. What does nihilism mean?—that the supreme values devalued themselves.
OH and some crazy songs have been stuck in my head lately, all songs that i used to love <3 (still do)
“Tourniquet” by Evanescence
do you remember me
lost for so long
will you be on the other side
or will you forget me
I’m dying, praying, bleeding and screaming
am I too lost to be saved
am I too lost?
my God my tourniquet
return to me salvation
“Graduation (Friends Forever)” by Vitamin C
Stay at home talking on the telephone
We would get so excited and we’d get so scared
Laughing at ourselves thinking life’s not fair
And this is how it feels
As we go on
We remember
All the times we
Had together
And as our lives change
Come Whatever
We will still be
Friends Forever
“Beauty From Pain” by Superchick
After all this has passed, i still will remain
After i’ve cried my last, there’ll be beauty from pain
Though it won’t be today,
Someday i’ll hope again
And there’ll be beauty from pain
You will bring beauty from my pain
(and last but not least)
“Revenge on the Radio” by Danger is my Middle Name
One day you’ll hear me singing on the radio
a song that I wrote for the lies you told
Lights out this joke’s on you!
Like a car crash right on cue
or a stuck trigger and my bad mood
on the radio
Guess I’ll get to work
